PAFFREL Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchie, National Co-ordinator Sujeewa Gayanath and the Head of Election complaint and Intervention Unit, Isuru Karavita,spoke about the the present situation on the forthcoming General Electoin to the media and the public.
Mr.Hettiarchchie spoke about the Elections Law vioaltions reported and what PAFFREL has done to prevent further occurance.He further told that around 15,000 trained observers will be deployed around the country on the election day and 14 International observers are already in the country to monitor elections.
The public was made aware on how one can prove their identities on the election day.
And it was stressed that the importance of creating a possitive political culture.
"despite of your personal politcal views, try to elect the most suitable 225 candidates for the parliament" Mr. Hettiarachchie said further.
Members of ANFREL was also present at the conference.
