A discussion was held yesterday between the MP collective for clean politics, the steering committee of the March 12 Movement and the Commissioner of Elections,Mahinda Deshapriya yesterday (06) at the parliament of Sri Lanka.
The discussion focused on establishing a new electoral system and was also deeply discussed about the importance of a free and fair mechanism where all is equal in their participation.
The importance of widening the network of MP collective for clean politics was also considered at the meeting.
The limelight of yesterdays meeting was spot on all the members of the parliament who are not officially a part of the MP collective for Clean politics but who actively participated in the discussion.
The members of the parliament , at the discussion declared that they would render any support to build a clean and responsible political culture in Sri Lanka.
The workshops conducted by March 12 Movement, targeting the candidates of the local government elections were also appreciated here.
