Parliamentary Elections to elect a new parliament of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka ended today (05) at 5 p.m.
196 representatives are to be appointed from 166 electoral divisions, while 29 seats are allocated to the representatives from the National List.
The total number of candidates are 7452 from 40 political parties and 312 independent groups.
The highest number of registered voters are reported from Gampaha District, the number being 1,785,964. Lowest being 2,87,024 fron Vanni District.
Citizens casted their votes in 12,985 polling stations and the inaugural parliament session to be held on the 20th August 2020

ඡන්ද විමසීම අවසන්
ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රජාතාන්ත්‍රික සමාජවාදී ජනරජයේ 9 වන පාර්ලිමේන්තුව සඳහා නියෝජිතයින් තෝරාගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් වන ඡන්ද විමසීම අද (05) පස්වරු 5 ට අවසන් විය.
මෙම මැතිවරණයේදී මැතිවරණ කොට්ඨාශ 166 කින් නියෝජිතයින් 196 දෙනෙකු තෝරාගැනීමට නියමිත අතර ජාතික ලැයිස්තු නියෝජිතයින් 29 දෙනෙකුද තෝරාගැනීමට නියමිතය.
මේ සඳහා පිළිගත් දේශපාලන පක්ෂ 40 ක් හා ස්වාධීන කණ්ඩායම් 312 ක් නියෝජනය කරමින් තරඟ වැදුණු අපේක්ෂකයින් ගණන 7452 කි.
දිවයිනේ වැඩිම ලියාපදිංචි ඡන්දදායකින් සංඛ්‍යාව ගම්පහ දිස්ත්‍රික්කය නියෝජනය කරන අතර එම සංඛ්‍යාව 1,785,964 කි. අඩුම ලියාපදිංචි ඡන්දදායකයින් සංඛ්‍යාව වන්නි දිස්ත්‍රික්කය නියෝජනය කරන අතර එම සංඛ්‍යාව 2,87,024 කි.
අද ඡන්ද විමසීම මධ්‍යස්ථාන 12,985 කදී පැවැත්වුණු අතර අභිනව පාර්ලිමේන්තුව රැස්වීමට නියමිතව ඇත්තේ එළඹෙන අගෝස්තු මස 20 වන දිනයි.
